Britens Glycinate 100% biobased is a natural surfactant, readily biodegradable, EO-free and sulphate-free. Britens Glycinate is anionic, extremely mild, high foaming. Britens Glycinate is based on coconut oil, a natural renewable and sustainable resource.
Britens Glycinate is remarkably mild for hair and skin and has great cleaning capacities. This combination results in a perfect application for personal care products such as facial cleansers and body wash for sensitive skin. The purity of the product makes it suitable for high-quality products.
When used in formula’s Britens Glycinate has a slight viscosity reducing effect. When low viscosity is wanted, Britens Glycinate is a great surfactant. Using thickeners/consistency modifiers, higher viscosities are easily obtained.
Britens Glycinate can be used as a primary surfactant due to its cleansing properties and as a co-surfactant, because its high compatibility with other surfactants. Britens Glycinate fits a broad range of pH values, 5.0 – 9.0, and has a neutral resistance in hard water.
When used in formula’s Britens Glycinate gives the formula an easy rinse-off effect. Britens Glycinate washes away with relative small amounts of water compared to other less mild surfactants. Therefor leaving no traces of the surfactant on the skin after washing.
Our line of 100% bio mild surfactants like Britens Glycinate improve the dermatological characteristics of surfactant formulations by replacing the more skin irritating and eye damaging Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and Sodium Laureth Sulfate as the main surfactant. Resulting in a safe silky smooth product for your skin and hair
All these properties make Britens Glycinate suitable for a broad variety of products in personal care, such as face cleansers, shampoos, body washes, shaving products, toothpastes and especially personal care products for infants and for the sensitive skin and hair.
Technical:
Britens Glycinate is derived from plant based oils and the amino acid glycine. The hydrophilic head is made from the amino acid, extracted from natural raw materials containing glycine trough fermentation. Sirius International is always looking to innovate towards natural raw materials and Britens Glycinate is part of our line of biobased mild surfactants.
