Information:

Britens Glucamide is a stable foaming, conditioning, mild surfactant based on meglumine, an amino sugar derived from glucose. Britens Glucamide offers an alternative for APG, and is a nonionic surfactant that is mild to the skin, non toxic, readily degradable and sustainable.

The foaming capabilities can be adjusted by adjusting the C-chain ratio and the surfactant lends itself as an excellent viscosity modifier.

Britens Glucamide can be produced from virgin (unmodified) plant-based oils, such as coconut oil, sunflower oil and RSPO palm (kernel) oil, but also from recycled coconut oil, a world-first surfactant made from recycled vegetal oil.

Technical:

As can be seen in the structure, the hydrophylic head of the surfactant is the aminosugar. The hydrophobic tail of this surfactant consists of the fatty acid part; which can be derived from coconut oil, sunflower oil or palm (kernel) oil.

Britens Glucamide types are active in a wide range of temperatures and pH and complements the Britens APG line.

Biodegradable Britens APG types without foam are Britens APG Y8 and Britens APG Z6. A biodegradable anionic surfactant with stronger cleaning power but not as mild as Britens APG types is Britens AOS. A slower degradable and still mild anionic surfactant is Britens ABS. Among mild anionic surfactants that combine with Britens Glucamide in personal care formulations are Britens Alaninate, Britens Glycinate and Britens Glutamate.

The applications for Britens Glucamide types are cosmetics, powder and liquid detergents
