My name is Andrea, I am 23 years old and a third-year Chemical Engineering student at Hogeschool Utrecht and have been doing an internship at Sirius International for the past five months.

Lately I have studied life cycle assessments for the mild surfactants: Britens Glutamate Cocoyl, Britens Glutamate Lauroyl, Britens Alaninate and Britens Glycinate. 

In this study I looked at the total carbon footprint of mild surfactants, what the largest environmental impacts of mild surfactants are and how mild surfactants compare to the alternatives Britens SLS and Ethoxybrite SLES.

By completing the assignment, I found out together with Sirius International how sustainable their mild surfactants are and whether mild surfactants can be made even more sustainable.

I would describe my time at Sirius as very educational. I learned a lot about what sustainability really is and how business works. I hope that Sirius International will come up with even more sustainable and innovative solutions in the future.
